Looking for the TRUTH?
WHERE IS TRUTH?
There are many people today who are confused and lost because they do not know the TRUTH. It is rather surprising now that God has already made the Truth very clear to us and yet many are still lost. I believe that many choose to be lost and many still are lost because of ignorance.
But search for the Truth is not a new thing. This is an age old question that was asked by many in the past and even in the beginning of the Church age, Pilate asked it again when he came face to face with the Lord Jesus Christ. John 18:38 Pilate asked, "What is TRUTH.
Truth can be define as that which is real, that which is unchangeable, and that which its point of reference is God YHWH himself. People have two major views about Truth; Absolute Truth - which cannot be changed and will remain true all the time from eternity to eternity; and Relative Truth - That which is true for me and may not be true for you; it is alway changing; it is challengeable; it is unstable; it shifts all the time.
A detail study of John will show 4 facts about absolute TRUTH
1. Absolute Truth is Liberating - (John 8:32) It frees a person from the different kinds of bondage that are enslaving him;
2. Absolute Truth is Conciliating - (John 14:17); It give peace of mind in times of struggle, worries, and adversities; it facilitates the renewal of relationship in marriage; families; extended families; vanua; lotu etc.
3. Absolute Truth is Directing - (John 16:13); It show you the way out in any wilderness you are in whether it be spiritual, emotional, intellectual; in marriage life, in personal life; in your employment, in your finance; in your vanua; in the lotu; in faith; in everything.
4. Absolute Truth is Consecrating - (John 17:17); It sets you apart from the filthiness of this sinful life. It Cleanses you; you mind; your thought; your perception, and manifests itself in a change of behaviour and attitude.
As I studied Pilates's Life I found that he was brought up in a civilization where Truth is based on Knowledge; Power, Wealth, and personal rights / personal freedom. As I looked at the present I am convinced that there are more similarities of his civilization to ours today. So called smart people in the secular world have come up with all different ideas and definition about Truth and none of them even come close to the real thing. No wonder many are lost.
The TRUTH has always been there. If we were living in the Old Testament we would have been slightly excused for our lostness and confusion but since Christ has already come we have no excuse whatsoever. The problem is many have been searching for the Truth in the wrong places. When you search for truth in a relative place you will get relative truth. But if you search for Truth in the Absolute place you will certainly find it.
Searching in the wrong places have cause people to create their own truth about, life, about marriage, about values, about, right and wrong. We have search in Drug Places; Booze Places; Sex Places; Work Places; Wealth Places; Money Places; Business Places; School Places; and more. We have only found and embraced the relatives. We have therefore allowed ourselves to e controlled and governed by that which is not the Absolute. I want to remind those who will read this piece is that: "ALL LIES COME FROM THE DEVIL", The Bible says that he is a liar and the "FATHER OF LIES". When he lies he speaks his native language (John 8:44). When you believe his lie it does five things to you:
1. You will be looking for loop-holes and excuses to get away out of your mess (John 18:30-31)
2. You will continue to make blinding decisions leading to trouble and misery (John 18:40)
3. You will be making contradicting statements because lie is relative truth and shifting all the time (John 18:31; 19:7)
4. You will exaggerate all things all the time because you will always want people to believe you (John 19:12;
5. You will kill all the time. May not necessarily by a gun or a knife; but you will murder people with your words (John19:16);
So what are you going to do?
The Lord Jesus said in the Bible; "I AM THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE". He is the absolute Truth. When you come to Him; You will certainly see the light; you will see the life; and you will see your way out; And when know him who is Absolute Truth it will set you free; And when He sets you free, you shall be free indeed (John 8:32). The greatest declaration I have found is in John 1:17 "TRUTH CAME BY JESUS CHRIST". Why search anywhere else when you can just flip the Word of God and it will show you what you have been searching for. Come to Jesus; turn away from your present filthy way of life that will only abuse you to destruction. Ask for God's forgiveness and ask Jesus to be your Lord and Saviour today.
Prayer
Lord Jesus; I am a sinner. I ask for your forgiveness for the way I have been living my life. I want a changed life; a new life; that only you can bring. I now ask you today to come into my heart and be my Lord and Saviour.
